Small Grants

The Public Affairs Section of the Palestinian Affairs Unit runs a Small Grants Program designed to assist Palestinian Non-Profit organizations in carrying out programs in several priority areas (Please provide a copy of your organization official registration with your application packet). The priority areas include:

  • Promoting the role of women’s civil society groups as agents for technology and innovation;
  • Improving advocacy and effective civic engagement among Palestinian non-governmental organizations in business, technology, and education;
  • Fostering critical thinking, teamwork, and other soft skills among high school and university students to bridge the “skills gap” and drive economic and civil society growth within their communities;
  • Developing skills in specialized areas of press and media – including environmental reporting, gender issues, and business reporting – using traditional techniques and new technologies;
  • Promoting Palestinian-American partnership through mentoring, capacity development, and increased business and operational effectiveness among Palestinian cultural organizations.

Grants will be awarded in amounts up to a maximum of $25,000. Eligible applicants for grant funding must live outside of the United States. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate cost-sharing, public-private partnerships, cooperation among multiple partners, or innovative means to implement cost savings (e.g. implementing digital technology, etc.) in their proposals. We will give special consideration to proposals which contain a USG program alumni engagement component.

Organizations wishing to submit proposals to the Public Affairs Section should complete and provide the following forms:
