Readout from a Treasury Spokesperson on Secretary Mnuchin’s Trip to Israel
TEL AVIV – U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin traveled to Israel from January 6 to January 7, 2021 where he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Minister of Finance Israel Katz, and underscored the strong and enduring relationship between the United States and Israel. They discussed the historic impact of the Abraham Accords and opportunities to expand and strengthen economic ties with Israel’s new partners in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the Israeli economy and national security issues including cooperative efforts to combat terrorist financing. The Secretary will continue on to Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. He is speaking daily with the team at Treasury to work on executing the fiscal package and work on the transition.
