Security Alert – U.S. Embassy Jerusalem

Location: Lebanese Border Areas and Golan Heights Region

Event:  The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem has lifted the temporary travel restrictions on U.S. government employees and their family members conducting personal travel to northern Israel that were put in place on December 18, 2018.  U.S. government employees and their family members can resume personal travel to the area north of Route 89 and west of Route 90, as well as north of Route 99. Travel restrictions of U.S. government employees and their family members remain in effect within 1.5 miles (2.4 kms) of the Lebanese border and east of Route 98 in the Golan Heights, including Mount Hermon. Official travel by U.S. government employees in these areas is permitted only to conduct essential travel and may require additional security measures.
