Emergency Contact Information for U.S. Citizens

Emergencies can include arrests, detentions, missing persons, hospitalizations, and victims of crime. If you call outside of normal business hours, the Duty Officer responding to this emergency number cannot assist with questions regarding passports, consular reports of birth, or other routine consular matters. For any general inquiries about passports or citizenship, please email the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem at JerusalemACS@state.gov or the Branch Office in Tel Aviv at TelAvivACS@state.gov and someone will reply to you shortly.

All services require an appointment, including emergency passport requests for the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and emergency passport requests for the Branch Office in Tel Aviv. 

The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit at U.S. Embassy Jerusalem is closed on the last Thursday of each month, and the ACS Unit at Branch Office Tel Aviv is closed on the first Wednesday of each month. Both offices are closed when the Embassy is not open.

During Business Hours at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem: Please call 02-630-4000. If you are calling from the U.S., please dial 011-972-2-630-4000. For non-emergency cases (including passport status), please e-mail us at JerusalemACS@state.gov).

After Business Hours at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem: If you need to report a new emergency situation to the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and are calling when the Embassy and Branch Office are closed on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) or on holidays or after 5:00pm local time during the workweek (Monday-Friday), call 972-2-622-7230 and ask to be connected to the Duty Officer.

During Business Hours at the Branch Office in Tel Aviv: Please call 03-519-7475 (emergencies only; for non-emergency cases (including passport status), e-mail us at TelAvivACS@state.gov).

After Business Hours at the Branch Office in Tel Aviv: If you need to report an emergency situation to the Branch Office in Tel Aviv and are calling when the Branch Office is closed on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) or on holidays or after 5:00pm local time during the workweek (Monday-Friday), call 03-519-7575 and ask to be connected to the Duty Officer.

For any urgent or general inquiries about passports, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, citizenship, or Notary Services, please email the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem at JerusalemACS@state.gov or the Branch Office in Tel Aviv at TelAvivACS@state.gov and someone will reply to you during business hours. The Duty Officer cannot assist you with these matters.
