Emergencies can include arrests, detentions, missing persons, hospitalizations, and victims of crime. If you call outside of normal business hours, the Duty Officer responding to this emergency number cannot assist with questions regarding passports, consular reports of birth, or other routine consular matters. Appointments and Hours
All services require an appointment, including emergency passport requests.
The American Citizen Services Units at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and the Branch Office in Tel Aviv are open to the public by appointment only from 8 to 11am, Monday – Friday, except for the first Wednesday of each month and during Embassy closures.
