ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING/ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/CHECK STATUS

Information for applicants with a technical or scientific background who interviewed in Branch Office Tel Aviv

 

Visa applications for individuals who work or study in scientific and technical fields may be subject to additional processing.

Applicants who present detailed information at the time of their interview help U.S. government officials process their cases more expeditiously and efficiently.  We suggest applicants prepare the following detailed information (in English) for the interview:

  1. Applicant: Name and passport number 
  2. Work Experience: Detailed description of current and past work; Resume/Curriculum Vitae: A detailed resume/CV that includes:
    -Present and previous work, including dates.
    -Educational background, including institution, dates, fields of study, degree, research topic and funding  sources.
    -List of publications including titles, topics, and dates.
    – Research expertise, military service, computer training or other specialized training.
  3. Educational/Research Background: Name of institution(s), dates of attendance, field(s) of study, degree(s) obtained, and research topics;
  4. Publication List (as applicable): Titles, topics, dates of publication, and brief abstracts or summaries;
  5. Travel: Countries visited in the past 5 years – list the year and country.
  6. Trip itinerary: Date(s), location, and purpose of the visit and any relevant addresses, and contact information (as applicable) of companies, conferences, and/or institutions.

Administrative Processing: Check Status

Below are the numbers of applications which required administrative processing and are now ready for visa issuance. If your number does not appear below, your case is still pending administrative processing. Please do not contact Branch Office Tel Aviv to inquire further. This list is updated daily.

Check if your application number is listed below. Perform a CTRL+F function to search for your application number.. The confirmation number is on your DS-160 application (this number also features below the barcode on the sticker on your passport, or on the form given to you by the consular officer). If your number appears on the list, your visa is ready to be issued and you should return your passport to the Branch Office.

Send your passport to Branch Office Tel Aviv if you are traveling in more than two weeks’ time:

  • Log in to your account with the Visa Information Service.  You should log in to your existing account, which you previously created when you registered your application and paid the fee.
  • Select Consular Section Instructed me to Send More Documents from the menu bar. Check the box next to the name of the applicant who is required to send in a passport.
  • Complete the Reason for Request window and click Send Request
  • Click on Continue
  • Print the Courier In Certificate
  • Take your passport and the Courier In Certificate to one of the 14 Israel Post Courier Services points of sale:

You will receive your passport and visa about 10 days later at your delivery address (or pickup location).

Bring your passport to the Branch Office if you are traveling in less than two weeks’ time:

  • Come to the Branch Office between 14:00-14:30, Monday –Thursday, bringing your passport and the letter given to you by the consular officer.
  • You will receive your passport and visa about 10 days later at your delivery address (or pickup location).
  • In limited circumstances, we may be able to issue your visa for pick-up sooner, but we will not be able to issue your visa the same day. Please bring your travel itinerary to confirm upcoming travel.
