After you have completed the steps on the Immigrant Visa Process on usvisas.state.gov, including paying the necessary fees and submitting the required immigrant visa application form (DS-260), Affidavit of Support, and supporting documents to the National Visa Center (NVC), they will review your file for completeness. Once your case becomes qualified for an interview, NVC will work with the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem to schedule an interview appointment for you.
You can learn more about the interview process on usvisas.state.gov. In addition, our checklist for Immigrant Visa Interview in English, as well as our Fastlane tips to speed your interview, are available in English (PDF-500KB), Arabic (PDF-487KB) and Hebrew (PDF-716KB).
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS RESIDING IN GAZA
If you are an immigrant visa applicant or Green Card holder residing in Gaza and require a permit to attend an interview, please follow the following steps:
- Contact us via email at Jerusalemivinquiries@state.gov to receive an appointment letter.
- We will schedule your appointment and mail you an appointment letter to Gaza via courier. Your letter will arrive more than 60 days in advance of your proposed appointment to allow time for the permitting process.
- Immediately apply for your permit to leave Gaza through the District Coordination office (DCO). You should present the appointment letter issued by the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem as evidence of the date of your appointment.
- The Israeli authorities at Erez will provide a shuttle service on the date of your interview directly to the U.S. Consulate General Jerusalem Consular Section at 14 David Flusser Street. Same-day return shuttle service is also provided.
REGISTERING FOR COURIER
As soon as your petition is approved by USCIS and you are notified by NVC of the receipt of your file, you must register with a courier service by visiting the following website: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-il/iv. Registering will allow us to send you the appointment letter and will allow you to track the delivery status of your documents, especially your immigrant visa when issued. Please note that you will not receive any documentation from our office if you do not register. Registration is not complete until you select a courier (Wassel or Israel Post).
