Please do not arrive at the Embassy more than 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
You must bring your DS-160 and appointment confirmation slip with you to your appointment.
All visitors, including American citizens, are required to go through a security inspection. To facilitate access to the Consular Section, please carry only those items that are absolutely necessary. The following are prohibited items:
- cameras, mobile phones or any other electronic devices, such as Blackberries, iPads, and remote-entry automobile key “fobs”
- liquids, including lighters
- large bags such as suitcases or backpacks
- sealed envelopes
We cannot be held responsible for lost or missing items that are checked with security.
Only applicants with appointments will be admitted into the Embassy. Children should not be brought to the Embassy unless there is a specific reason for their attendance such as renewing a passport, or an immigrant visa case. Other relatives will not be admitted unless they have an active case that requires their participation. Exceptions will be made only if the applicant requires an interpreter or if the applicant is disabled and requires assistance. The applicant must contact the nonimmigrant visa section at least two business days in advance via at JerusalemNIV@state.gov to provide the interpreter or caretaker’s full name and ID number. The interpreter or caretaker’s name must be on the appointment list. Interpreters will be allowed entry only if they will be interpreting from English to a language other than Hebrew, Arabic, or Russian.
To facilitate access to the Consular Section and reduce the time spent in security checks, please carry only those items that are absolutely necessary to bring into the Embassy. You will need to comply with all security requirements without exception.
